Application Scope

BATTU can be used for waterproofing of both internal and external surfaces, including toilets, balconies, swimming pools and water bodies. It can also be used as a waterproofing compound in concrete and for waterproofing over cracked floor slabs.

STEP 1: SURFACE PREPARATION

Clean the entire waterproofing surface thoroughly. Remove all dust, rubble, loose particles and construction debris to create a clean and smooth surface. After cleaning, adequately hydrate the surface with water to ensure the base slab is properly wet and cooled before application.

STEP 2: PREPARE THE FIRST COAT

Mix 1 litre of BATTU with 50 kg of cement and approximately 10 litres of water. Mix thoroughly to prepare a consistent and uniform adhesive cement slurry.

STEP 3: APPLY THE FIRST COAT

Apply the prepared BATTU cement slurry uniformly across the entire cleaned and hydrated surface. Ensure that the complete slab surface is covered and no exposed slab area remains visible.

STEP 4: CURING & PREPARATION OF SECOND COAT

After applying the first coat, sprinkle water adequately over the coating for curing. Once the first coat has adequately set on the surface, prepare another BATTU cement slurry using the same proportion as the first coat.

STEP 5: APPLY THE SECOND COAT

Apply the second coat uniformly over the entire waterproofing surface using a brush. Ensure that the coating is consistently spread across the surface. Apply the coating with the brush in a single, consistent direction.

STEP 6: CURING & PONDING

Sprinkle water regularly over the second coat until the coating has completely set. Once the coating is adequately set, undertake ponding for 1–2 days to check and strengthen the waterproofing performance.

STEP 7: FINAL PROTECTIVE LAYER

After completing the required ponding period, provide the final protective layer using brick bat coba or cement screed. For this layer, add 500 ml of BATTU for every 50 kg bag of cement.

STEP 8: FINAL FINISHING & CURING

Finish the surface as required for the site/application. Allow the final layer to set for approximately 1 day and provide adequate sprinkle curing during this period.

IMPORTANT – EXTERNAL EXPOSED SURFACES

For external exposed surfaces, the recommended BATTU dosage may vary depending on the application and site conditions. Always refer to the BATTU product brochure or consult the BATTU technical team for the recommended dosage before application.

BATTU supports waterproofing by preparing a high adhesive bonding, moisture penetration control and the DFT (Dry Film Thickness) can be adjusted according to site requirements.
