PLASTERING APPLICATION USING BATTU
Step 1: Mortar Preparation
Prepare a cement-sand mortar in a ratio of 1:4 (Cement : Sand). Ensure the dry materials are mixed thoroughly to achieve a uniform blend before adding water.
Step 2: Surface Preparation
Clean the wall surface and remove all dust, loose particles and other contaminants. Pre-wet the surface with clean water to achieve a damp condition prior to plastering.
Step 3: BATTU Addition
Add 200 ml of BATTU to the first bucket of mixing water. Mix thoroughly and introduce this solution into the dry mortar prepared in Step 1.
Step 4: Mortar Mixing
Mix the mortar thoroughly and gradually add additional water as required to achieve the desired workability and consistency.
Step 5: Optional Bond Coat
Where desired, a thin slurry coat of cement and water may be applied to the damp substrate before plaster application to enhance adhesion.
Step 6: Plaster Application
Apply the prepared mortar directly onto the wall surface using standard plastering techniques. The improved workability provided by BATTU enables easier application and better mortar cohesion.
Step 7: Thickness
Plaster thickness up to 22 mm may be applied in a single coat, subject to site conditions and good plastering practices.
Step 8: Finishing
Level, compact, and finish the plaster surface as per project requirements to achieve the desired texture and appearance.
Step 9: Curing
Commence curing after initial setting. Maintain wet curing for a minimum period of 7 days, preferably twice daily or more frequently under hot, dry, or windy conditions.
Step 10: Ready-Mix Plaster
For ready-mix plaster applications, follow the same application procedure. BATTU dosage may vary depending on the plaster formulation. Refer to the latest BATTU dosage guidelines for the recommended addition rate.

Critical Control Points
- Always add BATTU to the first mixing water.
- Ensure the substrate is clean and damp before plastering.
- Do not add BATTU directly to dry cement or sand.
- Do not re-temper mortar with excessive water after setting has commenced.
- Adequate curing is essential to achieve optimum strength and durability.
Expected Benefits
- Improved mortar workability
- Enhanced adhesion to substrate
- Reduced shrinkage-related cracking
- Improved plaster strength and durability
- Better surface finish and consistency
- Enhanced long-term performance
