CONCRETE APPLICATION USING BATTU

Concrete Application Training Video

BATTU can be used in site-mixed concrete for all types of R.C.C work as well as for Ready mix concrete for low shrinkage – Performance based concrete.

Step 1: Material Preparation

Ensure all materials including cement, aggregates, water, and BATTU are available and conform to project specifications.

Step 2: Concrete Mixing

Load the drum mixer with aggregates and cement as per the approved concrete mix design. Add only 50% of the required quantity of water before adding BATTU.

Step 3: BATTU Addition

Add BATTU directly into the mixer after the initial water has been introduced. Don’t add BATTU to dry cement and dry aggregates. Add balance water to achieve the desired workability.

Step 4: Mixing

Continue mixing for a minimum of 2–3 minutes after adding BATTU to ensure uniform dispersing throughout the concrete mix.

Step 5: Placement & Curing

Place, vibrate, compact, and finish the concrete in accordance with standard construction practices followed by curing after initial setting specifications to achieve optimum strength and durability.

Water-Cement Ratio

The water-cement ratio should be selected based on the required concrete grade, workability, and site conditions. Trial mixes are recommended before large-scale concreting to establish the optimum mix parameters.

Concrete Grade Suitability

For site-mixed concrete up to M30 grade, the recommended BATTU dosage remains unchanged unless otherwise advised by the BATTU Technical Team.

Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC)

For incorporating BATTU in Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC), please consult the BATTU Technical Team for dosage recommendations and batching procedures.

Critical Control Points

  • Add BATTU only after water has been introduced into the mixer.
  • Don’t add BATTU directly to dry cement or aggregates.
  • Maintain the specified and established water-cement ratio.
  • Ensure adequate mixing for uniform distribution.
  • Follow proper placement, compaction, and curing practices.

Expected Benefits

  • Improved concrete strength
  • Enhanced compaction and finish
  • Improved durability
  • Better resistance to water ingress
  • Enhanced long-term performance of concrete structures
